About The Position

We are looking for a Team Lead, Priority Business Customer Acquisition to join our team. This role is responsible for leading the renewal underwriting team supporting groups of less than 500 lives. You will review renewals and process changes for assigned business segments and help improve the technical underwriting bench strength by reinforcing fundamental underwriting concepts throughout the team. You will actively develop staff toward increased effectiveness in their current roles and preparation for future roles. This role requires you to be credible and responsive to customers and internal business partners, partnering with the field to ensure delivery on service goals. You will seek to understand individual and general market dynamics to maximize success, and collaborate with others to identify and solve problems across teams and business units.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Employee Benefits experience in Underwriting or related.
  • Leadership or Mentorship experience preferred.
  • Anticipates resource needs, sets priorities, and manages people & work in most effective manner to achieve performance objectives in conjunction with guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong critical thinking skills. A passion for making decisions through both analyzing data and employing critical thinking skills.
  • Strong underwriting technical skills.
