Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Phlebotomy Training or Phlebotomy Technical School
- Minimum ASCP certification for Phlebotomy (or other accrediting agency) or certification must obtain within 3 months of hire date.
- Six months of phlebotomy experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in a small team providing phlebotomy services to inpatients or an outpatient laboratory.
- Ensures adherence to standards and policies.
- Trains new employees as assigned.
- Captures data, audits processes and reports selected metrics to management.
- Follows department standard work, updates and maintains huddle board.
- Audits Phlebotomy staff to ensure adherence to standards in processes.
- Coaches staff to improvement.
- Tracks and documents performance statistics. e.g.; patient wait times, redraw rates, and presents data at team meetings.
