About The Position

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Medical Staff Services, the Team Lead assists in training and daily supervision of the medical staff coordinators. As assigned by the Director, will be responsible for conducting audits, monitoring metrics and participating in creating policies, procedures and standard work for the assigned Central Region Medical Staff Services Office(s). The Team Lead collaborates with the medical staff coordinators to addresses day-to-day operational issues and participates in the day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Management, Health Information Technology, or related field required
  • 3 years of experience in similar position or experience in healthcare administrative function.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) required by the National Association of Medical Staff Services or obtain certification within one year of meeting the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) eligibility requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience in hospital medical staff services management or similar role preferred.
  • Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) required by the National Association of Medical Staff Services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage schedule, preparation, and completion of Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE), Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), and reappointments.
  • Oversees process for requesting temporary clinical privileges.
  • Coaches and develops Medical Staff Coordinators and monitoring of day to day operations
  • Ensures that all Medical Staff members & Specified Professionals have delineated clinical privileges and that hospital departments are education on how to access to these privilege delineations via the Intranet.
  • Updates privilege delineation forms in collaboration with the Medical Staff members.
  • Establishes and maintains standardized credentialing applications, forms, letters, reports, etc.
  • Supports the Regional Director with the coordination of Medical Staff bylaws revisions, deletions, and additions as necessary; along with necessary communications to required departments, offices, and/or staff.
  • Participate in regulatory agency reviews/audits as required.
  • Prepares reports as requested by Senior Leadership, marketing, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
