About The Position

Medical Intelligence is a shared service team that supports provider identification and research to help meet members’ unique healthcare needs and preferences. The team conducts comprehensive provider evaluations and delivers actionable insights that support informed decision-making and high-quality member experiences. The Team Lead, Medical Intelligence is responsible for overseeing day-to-day team operations while fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and supportive team culture. This role provides direct supervision and operational leadership for a team of 5 to 8 individuals, including Medical Intelligence Analysts and Associates, ensuring work is completed efficiently, with high-quality, and in alignment with departmental priorities. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both people leadership and strong functional knowledge of Medical Intelligence workflows and deliverables. The Team Lead is expected to serve as a subject matter resource, support complex work, provide real-time guidance, and help drive consistency and operational excellence across the team. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role is expected to independently manage a caseload of requests, as needed, to support team capacity and business demand.

Requirements

  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong operational knowledge with the ability to coach and guide staff in day-to-day work
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance team leadership with hands-on operational involvement
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and navigate change effectively

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and day-to-day support to a team of Medical Intelligence Analysts and Associates
  • Foster a culture of trust, transparency, accountability, and collaboration
  • Support employee development through regular feedback, mentoring, and growth conversations
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and skill development for new and existing staff
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages communication and continuous improvement
  • Prioritize and assign work based on business needs, team capacity, staff development opportunities, and operational timelines
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance in managing workload priorities, complex requests, and operational challenges
  • Maintain a strong understanding of day-to-day Medical Intelligence operations, processes, and deliverables
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and workflow effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen team operations
