About The Position

National Vision is seeking a dedicated Optical Manufacturing Technician Team Lead to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in the production process, ensuring the quality and accuracy of lenses while contributing to an efficient workflow. The company offers a competitive pay structure with overtime and potential for production bonuses, in a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled optical manufacturing lab in Salt Lake City, Utah. The shift is dayshift, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, four days per week (Monday-Thursday). The Team Lead will lead and inspire a team of skilled professionals, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, implementing quality control measures, analyzing production data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring safety compliance, managing inventory, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.

Requirements

3 years of experience in manufacturing
At least 2 years in a leadership role
Proven track record of successfully leading and motivating manufacturing teams
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, and best practices
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
Proficiency in project management and production planning tools
Solid understanding of quality control systems and safety standards in manufacturing
Experience with supply chain management and inventory control
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights
Visionary mindset with a passion for driving innovation in manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production schedules and optimal resource utilization
Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment

Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
