About The Position

Direct the duties of the first shift crew to produce the finest quality product at rates and standards consistent with the Company’s desire to be a Preferred Supplier of cost-effective, top-quality products. This role is responsible for the safety, quality, and efficiency of the Vboard machine and its crew. The Team Lead/Operator will effectively and efficiently operate the Vboard machine to maintain production goals, provide crew leadership, coordinate the crew, and lead communications with the crew and plant leadership. Support and lead training efforts, be proficient in all areas of the Vboard machine, and meet performance metrics. Document and communicate in the glass wall. The role also requires the ability to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all equipment, satisfactorily perform all Vboard duties, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, effectively communicating opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include assisting in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects, keeping up-to-date with machine improvements, maintaining cleanliness for safety, and fostering an attitude of lean thinking and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries to supervision immediately.
  • Ensure good communication between shifts.
