The 3rd Shift Crew Leader will operate equipment and provide leadership to the crew to produce high-quality products efficiently, meeting the company's goal of being a preferred supplier. This role involves operating the Vboard machine, providing crew leadership, coordinating the crew, and communicating effectively with the crew and plant leadership. The position also supports training efforts, requires proficiency in all areas of the Vboard machine, meeting performance metrics, documenting and communicating in the glass wall, performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety, quality and efficiency of Vboard machine and crew.
  • Effectively and efficiently operate Vboard machine to maintain production goals.
  • Provide crew leadership and coordinate crew.
  • Lead communications with crew and plant leadership.
  • Support and lead training efforts.
  • Proficient in all areas of the Vboard machine.
  • Meet performance metrics. Document and communicate in glass wall.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all equipment.
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform all Vboard duties.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and effectively communicate opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness for this position.
  • Assist in all phases of machine and department operation as needed for breaks, changes, or special projects.
  • Keep up to date with any ongoing machine improvements.
  • Maintain cleanliness to ensure safety of all personnel.
  • Foster an attitude of lean thinking, sustain improvements and motivating the rest of the crew to not be satisfied with status quo.
  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed. Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries to supervision immediately.
  • Ensure good communication between shifts.
