Team Lead – In-House Rental + Valet – Canyons Village, Park City

Alterra Mountain CompanyPark City, UT
Onsite

About The Position

As an In-House Team Lead, you will serve as the shift manager for our on-site ski rental and valet operation within the Waldorf Astoria Park City. You will lead the front-line team, set clear priorities and expectations, assign team members to stations based on guest demand, maintain equipment readiness and safety standards, and step in wherever needed to deliver a seamless guest experience. Because Ski Butlers operates within partner hotels, you will also work closely with hotel staff, respond to guest escalations, support service recovery, and ensure smooth communication and handoffs between shifts. No two shifts are the same, so success in this role requires adaptability, sound judgment, clear communication, consistent accountability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while leading by example. The Waldorf Astoria Park City is a luxury mountain property located in the Canyons Village of Park City Mountain Resort. Ski Butlers operates as an extension of the hotel’s skier services, helping guests transition smoothly between the hotel and the mountain each day.

  • Weekend and holiday work required.
  • Daily operations broken into morning and evening shifts.
  • No previous experience required!

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre- and post-shift team meetings, clearly communicating priorities, individual assignments, and expected outcomes.
  • Serve as the shift manager and coordinate the flow of rental fittings, ski valet services, equipment staging and retrieval, guest boot assistance, swaps, and returns.
  • Assign and reposition team members based on real-time guest demand, hotel activity, and operational priorities while supporting efficient labor usage.
  • Work closely with hotel departments—including concierge, bell, front drive, and transportation—to coordinate guest requests and provide a seamless experience.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests received in person or through phone calls, text messages, emails, radios, and hotel team members.
  • Resolve guest concerns and service issues, escalating situations to the appropriate manager when additional authority or support is required.
  • Ensure Ski Butlers and hotel standards are maintained throughout the shift, including uniforms and appearance, equipment condition, shop and valet cleanliness, organization, and professional conduct.
  • Complete thorough shift handoffs documenting unresolved guest concerns, missing or damaged equipment, upcoming requests, staffing needs, and other relevant operational information.
  • Assist guests with ski and snowboard rentals, including selecting, fitting, adjusting, and exchanging equipment according to Ski Butlers’ training and safety procedures.

  • Support ski valet operations by staging, retrieving, storing, and organizing guest equipment during peak periods.
