The Team Lead Environmental Services will lead co-workers in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) program. This role involves conferring with supervisory staff on job assignments, projects, and activities, verifying the completion of duties by EVS staff, assisting in scheduling, and adjusting the daily schedule to ensure proper staffing. The lead will also function as an EVS Tech, knowing all positions and responsibilities within the department, and will play a role in hazardous materials, spills, and disaster plans. Additionally, the lead will assist in competencies, monitor bed tracking, breaks, and lunch, act as a liaison between EVS and customers/staff, coordinate projects/setups, assist with room inspections, and issue keys, pagers, and equipment. Suggestions for work improvement are also encouraged. The role also involves assisting in training on new equipment and cleaning methods, inspecting equipment and supplies, and communicating associate performance, conduct, and issues to leadership. A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, maintaining a courteous attitude, utilizing the chain of command for complaints, maintaining confidentiality, and presenting the department positively are essential. The lead will utilize AIDET with internal and external customers, identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively, demonstrate a positive attitude in emergency and non-emergency situations, and display tact when dealing with hospital personnel. Training associates and assisting in the Department Orientation Process, maintaining licenses and certificates, and fulfilling operating unit, competencies, and required training are also key responsibilities.
