About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a full-time Team Lead for their Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team on the Northwest side of Chicago. The ACT team provides integrated crisis, treatment, and rehabilitative support to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The goal of ACT Services is to promote symptom stability, manage co-morbid health conditions, restore personal care, community living, work, and social skills. Services include counseling, therapy, medication management, skill building, and crisis stabilization, with a focus on restoring functional skills for community living. The Team Leader will supervise 4-10 team members, providing guidance and ensuring client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed services with a harm reduction approach. They will also share case management duties, oversee program goals, and assist in establishing community partnerships.

Requirements

  • Master’s in social services or related field required.
  • LSW/LPC required.
  • IM+CANS assessments and certification required.
  • Biohazard training required.
  • Trained and proficient Electronic Health Record documentation and review required.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW/LCPC preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of clinical experience, working with mental health and/or substance use population, preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of increasing leadership responsibility preferred.
  • Experience leading groups preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Participate in supervisory duties, including but not limited to on-boarding and off-boarding of staff.
  • Provide and coordinate a continuum of client treatment services.
  • Carry a caseload of clients providing supportive counseling and concrete services and collaborate with other internal and external programs and treatment providers in order to provide these services.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and meets Rule 140/132 and/or MCO requirements, including crisis plan assessments and intake documentation.
  • Comply with documentation and productivity standards.
  • Transport clients in personal or agency vehicle.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
