However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role We are thrilled to announce the opening of a team lead position in our Actuarial team! In this role, you will report to a manager and will be responsible for leading a small team of 1–3 actuarial analysts while serving as both technical and project lead. Requirements

  • University degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Job-specific designation: Mathematics, Actuarial Science, FCAS or FCIA an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience, including 1 year of coaching (major asset).
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to executing key actuarial objectives by actively participating in hands-on work, providing technical advice to team members, ensuring the quality of their work, and formulating appropriate recommendations to improve the performance of products and services.
  • Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of their team members to achieve the company’s strategic objectives, while creating a highly engaged workforce, where employees contribute to the success of the team and company.
  • Manage their team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning.
  • Represent the actuarial function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.
