About The Position

As a Team Development & Resources (TDR) Student Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely alongside members of our various teams such as Training and Development and Organizational Development. Student interns will support the design and implementation of learning opportunities for NYSTRS staff, program and event coordination, as well as various administrative tasks and activities. This position is a temporary, full-time appointment for the summer of 2027 (June through August).

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program with at least one semester remaining to complete all degree requirements following the internship.
• Unrestricted work authorization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to show initiative and work independently
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience with or knowledge of office environment norms
• Experience and comfort speaking to a large cross-functional, multi-level group
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
• Significant attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Support the facilitation of divisional programming and staff engagement opportunities
• Develop and deliver inclusive educational programming for NYSTRS staff
• Conduct research on the industry’s best practices and emerging trends
• Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various TDR projects
• Assistance with divisional internet/intranet site upkeep and innovation
• Provide general administrative support to the TDR team
