The Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI) is seeking a Teaching Support Specialist. This is a full time, 40 hour/week, on campus position (within daily commuting distance from Ithaca, NY). Some hybrid activities are possible, but the employee will be expected to be on campus regularly and frequently. Fully remote work is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This is a 2-year term position. The Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI) is a unit in the Office of the Vice-Provost for Academic Innovation (VPAI). The CTI partners with the Cornell teaching community to explore and foster inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices. We facilitate the development of vibrant, challenging and reflective student-centered learning experiences. Our vision is a Cornell teaching community that embraces the research on learning, catalyzes innovative instructional practices, and creates learning environments where every student can thrive. Reporting to an Associate Director of the Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI), the Teaching Support Specialist (TSS) will deepen pedagogical development for teachers at all stages of their career, with a particular focus on graduate students. The TSS will work to promote inclusive, evidence-based, and innovative teaching throughout the university. They will collaborate with colleagues and with CTI Graduate Teaching Fellows to develop, implement, and assess programs that support the development and deepening of teaching skills for graduate students and prepare them for careers as future faculty. This position works collaboratively with other CTI staff members to advance excellence in teaching and learning across the university and support the mission of the CTI.
