About The Position

The Department of Health Sciences at Drexel University is seeking a non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The primary responsibility will be teaching research-related courses to undergraduate students, which may include research methods, statistics, and a new research seminar focused on the candidate's expertise. A secondary responsibility involves teaching human anatomy and physiology. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to inclusive teaching, enthusiastic about establishing scholarship and service to support academic growth, and committed to the department's mission of engaging undergraduates in experiential learning. A key focus is supporting the department's teaching mission, with protected time provided for research, service, and career development. Expertise in chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular physiology, muscle physiology, aging, and genetics is of particular interest. Candidates who can contribute to the department's emerging emphasis on undergraduate research experiences are especially encouraged to apply. The department is undergoing significant development, including a move to a new state-of-the-art building, expansion of its Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program, and initiatives to grow the undergraduate research program and a new health-focused exercise science major. Collaboration opportunities exist within Drexel University's various colleges and schools, as well as with regional institutions and community partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a PhD or comparable doctoral degree
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience teaching in higher education
  • Experience with development of multimedia and integration of technology in an academic setting
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Commitment to collaborating with instructors across a shared course and department
  • Commitment to teaching, scholarship, service and growth as an academic faculty member
  • Alignment with the goals and direction of the Health Sciences Department
