San Francisco Bay University (SFBU) is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Professor of General Education to deliver courses and provide leadership for its Agility Praxis Pathway (APP) Core Curriculum. SFBU is an innovative, nonprofit, WASC-accredited university in Silicon Valley, dedicated to offering inclusive, innovative, and inspirational education. The university's mission is to set a national standard for higher education in service of the common good, prioritizing students through meaningful relationships and personal engagement. SFBU is committed to affordable, high-quality education with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. The APP Core Curriculum Model is a transdisciplinary backbone of the undergraduate academic approach, infused with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. It is designed to foster agility, honor praxis (bridging academic inquiry with pragmatic creativity), and offer flexible pathways. The curriculum unfolds in three stages: 'Think' (immersing students in curated texts and resources to broaden perspectives), 'Do' (deliberate practice of skills and mindsets), and 'Create' (synthesizing learning into tangible outputs). This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track role in Fremont, CA, for individuals with deep subject expertise in multiple APP curriculum areas, a passion for teaching, experiential learning, and a desire to shape the future of undergraduate education. The appointment begins on July 27, 2026, with an initial 12-month contract, renewable based on performance. Faculty are expected to reflect on and revise their teaching practices, engage in faculty development through the Center for Empowerment and Pedagogical Innovation (CEPI), and undergo comprehensive training in leading-edge pedagogical practices.
