About The Position

Brillante Academy Public Charter School, which opened in August 2023, currently serves over 400 students in the Mission area and surrounding communities. By the 2026-2027 school year, Brillante will offer PreK3 through 4th grade and will continue to expand annually until 8th grade. The school plans to grow its network across Texas to serve over 7,000 students within the next decade. Brillante Academy operates under the Charter Management Organization (CMO) Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Seton Education Partners also manages the Brilla Schools Network in Bronx, NY. Brillante Academy is a two-way, dual language school focused on empowering scholars and the community through a blend of personalized blended learning, co-teaching, and a classical education approach. The school emphasizes educating the whole child, fostering character development through core values (courage, justice, wisdom, and self-control), maintaining high academic standards, and delivering a content-rich curriculum. The goal is to prepare scholars for success in high school, college, and beyond, equipping them with English and Spanish proficiency to become bilingual and biliterate citizens who positively impact their community. Requirements

Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model and virtues
High School Diploma or GED
An Associates Degree or minimum of 48 college hours

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a special education setting strongly preferred
Experience working with pre-K and/or lower elementary students preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Supporting lead teachers in cultivating a joyful learning environment where every child feels safe, loved and inspired to strive for and meet Brillante’s ambitious goals.
Assisting lead teachers in delivering exceptional, personalized instruction that results in meaningful student achievement and growth and character formation.
Contributing to a vibrant school culture through living the Brillante mission and core virtues, consistently implementing school-wide systems for instruction, culture and character development, frequently attending school-wide events, and championing our collective success.
Building meaningful relationships through listening, seeking to understand the perspectives of others, communicating clearly, kindly, and often, and recognizing and celebrating the dignity of every student, family and colleague.
Continuously learning and improving their practice through seeking and implementing feedback, collaborating deeply with others, engaging in data-driven instruction and on-going reflection, participating in professional development days, and utilizing other strategies aligned to their growth goals.
Delivering small group instruction to provide individualized support.
Preparing and delivering whole group lessons as assigned, and with support from lead teacher.
Assisting in customizing lesson plans and activities to meet the needs of individual students.
Supporting lead special education teacher with behavior management techniques and strategies.
Tracking data as instructed by lead teacher.
Helping teachers with administrative duties that support instruction and student learning (including but not limited to: attendance, material management and distribution, parent communication, student record keeping, operating technology, preparing lesson materials, making copies, etc.).
Providing personal care services for students as needed.
Physically assisting students with academic, behavior, mobility, self-help skills.
Demonstrating your unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students through your actions.
Participating in team meeting, check-ins with manager, before and school duties, and other school-wide meeting and events.
Monitoring students during transition times throughout the school day including recess, lunch, etc.
Other tasks as assigned.
