About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the Financial Modeling course (ADM3354) during the 2026 Spring/Summer Semester at the Telfer School of Management. The role involves marking midterms and assignments, requiring a strong understanding of financial modeling and the ability to apply grading rubrics effectively. The position requires candidates to be located in Ottawa for the entire duration of the course and to have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. The hiring process will be governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

Strong understanding of financial modeling
Ability to apply grading rubrics
Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage workload efficiently
Minimum C.G.P.A. of 7.0
Minimum grade of A- in ADM 3354 or its equivalent
Must be located in Ottawa for the entire duration of the course
Required to have access to a computer, internet, microphone and webcam
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.

Nice To Haves

Candidates with Financial, Data Science background, and Python programming skills
Experience with online course delivery
Experience with online videoconferencing environment (ex. Microsoft Teams)
Preference will be given to higher grades
Preference will be given to candidates who have previously been teaching assistants or markers for this course
Preference will be given to candidates enrolled in Telfer programs

Responsibilities

Marking midterm and assignments
Provide clear, structured feedback on student work
Manage workload efficiently to meet strict deadlines
Assist with other tasks as negotiated with the supervising professor, potentially including preparation, contact with students, proctoring, and training.
