About The Position

The Teaching Assistant will assist classroom teachers in implementing the curriculum and providing student support. This role involves working with students individually or in small groups for academic, behavioral, or Social Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions. The assistant will also support the Exceptional Student Services (ESS) and Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams in implementing student plans, and receive training in pedagogy, curriculum, and protocols to enhance effectiveness. Regular monitoring duties are also part of the role.

  • Commitment to a diverse population of students and to closing the achievement gap

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty members in implementing the curriculum and completing logistical and administrative tasks
  • Work in small groups or one-on-one with students who need academic, behavioral, or Social Emotional Learning (SEL) intervention.
  • Assist the Exceptional Student Services (ESS) and Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams in implementing student plans (IEPs, 504s, MTSS and READ plans, etc.)
  • Assist faculty in implementing academic and behavior plans
  • Receive training in pedagogy, curriculum, and protocols in order to be maximally effective with students
  • Fulfill regular monitoring duties (e.g., lunch, recess, traffic, etc.)
  • Any other duties as assigned
