About The Position

The French American School of Denver (FASDenver) is a French Immersion, multicultural learning community dedicated to providing an academically rigorous, culturally enriching environment where students are empowered to become critical thinkers, global citizens, and lifelong learners. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Occasional Lifting: 25–40 pounds.
• Meet Physical Demands: Required bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and standing for long periods rather than just stationary lifting, ability to move quickly, supervise active children, be outside for periods of time to supervise in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• B.A. or higher in education, child development, or a related field.
• Prior experience in a bilingual, immersion, or international school setting.
• Understanding of child development and/or early literacy and numeracy
• French/ English or Spanish/English bilingual

Responsibilities

• Support instruction in a Dual Language Immersion school (K–5) under the direction of the lead teacher(s).
• Model and encourage the use of spoken and written language throughout the school day.
• Assist with small group or one-on-one instruction in both academic and enrichment settings.
• Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning activities.
• Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and school events.
• Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate that supports all learners.
• Reinforce behavioral expectations and school norms positively and consistently.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet individual student needs.
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families (in French or English as appropriate).
• Participate in staff meetings, school events, and trainings/professional development sessions.
