About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the GEOG 3P08 - Meteorology course for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour, effective September 1, 2026. Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed an Honours Degree in Physical Geography or equivalent.
  • Completion of 4 full credits in Physical Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Physical Geography courses completed is required (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines.
  • Knowledge and past course experience in meteorology/climatology. Equivalency will be determined by the course instructor. Applicant must make a case that their qualifications are equivalent to those required above.

Nice To Haves

  • Students enrolled in an Honours program (completed 13 or more credits) in Physical Geography or equivalent will be considered if vacancies remain.
