Teaching Assistant LABR 2P90 Winter D3
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the course LABR 2P90 (The Labour of Sport) for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The compensation for Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions is based on the employee's qualifications. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Employees with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties beyond scheduled contact time will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in an LABR DEGREE, or who have completed an LABR DEGREE or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
