About The Position

The Department of Business seeks a qualified Teaching Assistant (TA) to support business course faculty and report directly to the Department Chair. The TA will provide instructional coordination and course faculty support, including accreditation-related documentation and testing/supporting the MBA+ program. Under faculty and chair supervision, the TA will help keep courses and department operations running smoothly, assist with student support and communications, and contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous-improvement activities. This is a part-time, non-exempt position based in Fremont, CA, with eligibility for a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a closely related field.
  • Current enrollment in a master's degree program at San Francisco Bay University (SFBU).
  • Relevant academic background and coursework related to the subject area being supported.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and academic integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively support assigned class sessions.
  • Schedule and hold two (2) weekly office hours to provide academic support to students.
  • Provide in-class instructional and administrative support as directed by the faculty member.
  • Assist with grading assignments, quizzes, and tests (excluding midterm and final examinations).
  • Conduct research and other course-related projects to support faculty and student learning.
  • Proctor examinations in accordance with university guidelines.
  • Observe classroom and examination activities to help maintain academic integrity.
  • Immediately report any suspected incidents of academic dishonesty to the course instructor.
  • Implement preventative measures to discourage inappropriate testing behaviors.
  • Support one or more courses, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervising faculty member.
