About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator position within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The position is for ADST 5P75 in Toronto for the Winter D11 term. Compensation for these positions is based on the employee's qualifications, with different hourly rates for those holding a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree versus those who do not. Additional duties required of a Teaching Assistant will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation, student consultation, marking, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The mode of delivery for the course is planned to be primarily in-person with some synchronous and asynchronous online instruction, and the successful candidate must be able to deliver course material in the required format and schedule.

Requirements

  • Completed undergraduate degree
  • Previous completion of ADST 5P75 with >85 grade
  • Demonstrated relevant Graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or Behavioural Psychology
  • Demonstrated experience in ABA
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet agreed upon deadlines
  • Available to attend in TORONTO and/or attend online synchronous and asynchronous course support – weekday/evenings/weekend
  • Experience using Brightspace or other learning management systems
  • Experience using video conferencing platforms (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)
  • Available for in person, online, email and phone office hours during the week

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in disability studies
  • Previous experience in teaching principles of ABA to graduate or undergraduate students and/or clinical staff members
