About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the "Behaviour in Organizations" course (CORG 651-771) at McGill University's School of Continuing Studies. The role involves assisting the course lecturer with various aspects of the course, including preparing and leading tutorials, facilitating online discussions, assisting students with learning course material and assessments, and helping with grading. The Teaching Assistant will also be responsible for responding to student inquiries and ensuring confidentiality. This is a tentative position pending final course offerings and enrollment. Requirements

Must be a current Masters or PhD student at McGill University in a relevant field
Prior demonstrable study in the subject matter of the course
Experience using myCourses
Excellent overall academic performance
Must have good command of the English language and good communication skills
Strong teaching skills
Knowledge of topics such as motivation, conflict management, power and influence, leadership, organizational culture, or change management

Responsibilities

Attend some classes if needed
Read required material and any secondary material necessary for preparation of tutorials and class discussions
Consult and communicate with course lecturer
Assist students learning
Effectively communicate with students
Respond to student inquiries by email, myCourses, Microsoft Teams or Zoom
Online course management including leading discussion groups, monitoring the discussion board and responding to questions
Conduct virtual (online) tutorials if needed
Hold virtual office hours
Assist students with course material and assessments or exercises
Assist with grading
Be present during midterms and other exams if needed
Ensure confidentiality regarding course-related matters
Respect and treat all students equally
