About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in MATH 1P12 Applied Linear Algebra for the Fall D2-1 term. The position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- Applicants must be at least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in an MATH, or who have completed an MATH or equivalent
- The successful applicant must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Be punctual in attending classes
- Be able to meet appropriate deadlines
