About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the SPMA 4P91 course for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 employee group. The role involves assisting with scheduled contact time with students and performing non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Requirements

• Must be at least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Sport Management, or equivalent
• Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
• Punctual in attending classes
• Able to meet appropriate deadlines
• Proven track record of working effectively with competent and quick marking turnaround

Nice To Haves

• MA or higher will be given preference
• Preferable to have taken the course with an 80% grade
