Under administrative supervision of the School Leader and/or Assistant School Leader and the day-to-day direction of the assigned Lead Teacher, assist the Lead Teacher in planning and providing a stimulating and comprehensive learning environment for infants, toddlers or pre-school children; assume lead teacher responsibilities in absence of the Lead Teacher; perform activities meeting Federal Early Head Start and Head Start Performance Standards and any regulatory standard regarding classroom activity. Teaching Assistant II shifts and/or duties may slightly vary depending on if the Teaching Assistant II is assigned to one classroom, provides support for multiple classrooms, or “floats” between schools as assigned by ECP Leadership. Teaching Assistants II will be assigned to classrooms based on daily staffing needs and are expected to provide flexible support in a variety of roles as required throughout the school day. Teaching Assistant II positions have the primary duties of: Assist and/or Attend with Home Visits and Family Conferences. Assist with all activities related to opening/closing the school, as needed. Assist with developing weekly lesson plans.
