About The Position
This posting is for a new position as a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the Structural Steel Design II course (CVG 4143) during the Fall 2026 semester in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa. The role involves assisting with student contact, grading, and other related tasks for an expected enrollment of 35 students. The position is governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
- Must have taken CVG4143 (Structural Design II) or equivalent at another Canadian University
- Familiarity with the Canadian Code for Structural Steel Design
- Excellent oral communication skills in English

Responsibilities
- Contact with students: 60 hours
- Grading: 60 hours
- Proctoring: 6 hours
- Other tasks: 4 hours
