About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) for the course SEG2505A, Introduction to Software Engineering, Section A, for the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves preparing and presenting labs and tutorials, developing or adapting software solutions for exercises, grading, proctoring, maintaining the course website, and assisting students. The number of positions and hours offered are subject to final enrollment in the course. The work is to be performed on the Main Campus.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course or equivalent with a grade of at least A.
• Must attend the TA seminar given by the Centre for Pedagogy, if necessary.
• Must be available for an interview.
• If the course includes DGD, TUT, and/or LAB supervision and teaching periods, candidates must be available for these.
• Proficiency in Java and UML, particularly UML class diagrams.
• Good knowledge of software engineering procedures, including analysis and verification.
• Good knowledge of customer service architectures and user interface configurations.
• Ease in the French technical language and terminology is essential.
• Recent coursework in computer engineering or science covering UML, or industry experience, or thesis work on the subject.

Nice To Haves

• Good knowledge of Android application development.
• Good knowledge of Git.
