About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor (CUPE) position for the course CSI4506A, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is for one (1) opening with an expected enrollment of 77 students. The total work hours are 130, with an hourly rate of $31.89 for undergraduate students and $50.25 for graduate students. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The work start date is September 01, 2026, and the work end date is December 31, 2026. The language of work is French. The hiring process will be governed by the current CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed this course with a grade of A or better.
  • In-depth knowledge of the course material is required.
  • Themes to know include: heuristic searches, constraint satisfaction problems, machine learning (naive bayes, neural networks), knowledge representation (semantic networks), natural language processing, and reasoning systems (logic).
  • Ability to solve exercises and program their solutions in Python.
  • Availability for weekly consultation hours to assist students with their assignments/projects (Python programming).
  • The teaching method will be delivered in person.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test Jupyter Notebooks on various AI topics.
  • Be available for weekly consultation hours to assist students with assignments (Python programming).
  • Be available in-person and via email during the semester to assist students with their AI project.
  • Grade assignments.
  • Grade the project.
