About The Position

This posting is for a New Position as a Teaching Assistant for the CPA Program, to commence in Fall 2026. The role is within the Telfer School of Management_Students and Casuals unit. The position involves correcting cases and mid-term/final exams using Densmore grading rubrics, providing written feedback to students, preparing and delivering a presentation after the mid-term exam with suggestions for improvement, and potentially other tasks as negotiated with the supervising professor. Candidates are expected to have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam. The work will be performed in person, but the teaching method may change due to health measures or other reasons. The work is for specific courses: CPT 5500, CPT 5501, CPT 5502, CPT 5503, and CPT 5504.

Requirements

  • Must preferably be a CPA or have passed the Common Final Examination (CFE) leading to the CPA.
  • Must have a graduate diploma from a CPA graduate program offered by a CPA Ontario accredited post-secondary institution (preference given to candidates who have successfully completed the Telfer CPA graduate diploma program).
  • Must have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in grading for graduate programs from CPA Ontario accredited university institutions.
  • Experience in grading for the CFE.
  • Experience with online teaching.
  • Experience with online video conferencing environment (e.g., Microsoft Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Correct 5 cases and mid-term and final exams using Densmore grading rubrics.
  • Prepare written feedback for each case/exam for each student.
  • Prepare and deliver a presentation after the mid-term exam (1-3 hrs) and provide suggestions for better case responses, techniques to use, and improvements.
  • Potentially other tasks as negotiated and signed by the student and supervising professor prior to the commencement of work.
