About The Position

A Teaching Assistant is hired for first-year large group courses in Property (CML1108). They must hold weekly tutorials (alternating between Drop-in tutorials and Access/Equity tutorials), and hold Exam Preparation sessions at the end of each term. In addition, they attend the course they are a TA for and to assist professors with administrative duties. Teaching Assistants will also play a mentorship role in helping students transition into their first year of law school. These positions also involve work during the winter term - you must also apply to the winter posting (no. JR34420). Your physical presence is required on campus.

Requirements

GPA of 7.0 or higher
Excellent communications skills
Prior teaching or tutoring experience
Aptitude using technology for teaching purposes
Ability to take initiative, and to work independently and creatively
An awareness of barriers faced by students from equity-seeking groups in educational settings
Demonstrated academic excellence (grade of A- or higher) in the course you wish to tutor
To have taken the course you wish to tutor as a JD student at the University of Ottawa or equivalent
