Smeal Teaching Studios - Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Specialist
About The Position
Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Specialists guide the exploration, development, evaluation, and/or implementation of new or experimental technology initiatives that support teaching, learning, and research. They support faculty in the effective integration of technology to enhance pedagogy, promote student engagement, and improve learning outcomes. This role involves providing consultative services to faculty, staff, and students on the effective use of emerging media technologies for teaching and learning. Additionally, the specialist will develop innovative resources and instructional material in support of faculty and student scholarly pursuits, design and maintain virtual teaching studios, and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional tools and strategies through research-based assessments and feedback. The role also includes exploring and testing new technologies, evaluating proposals, and working with vendors for product and service acquisition. The specialist must stay current with new technologies, trends, and pedagogical practices. There is a possibility of supervising staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
- Demonstration of strong customer service skills.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

- Stay current with new technologies, trends, and pedagogical practices.
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.
