About The Position
Family of Kidz has brought together highly qualified teams of professionals who work diligently to help children with special needs, from birth to adulthood. Our focus is on establishing a strong understanding of each child’s needs and teaching them skills that lead to greater independence and an enhanced quality of life. This is a part-time, center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist/Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) position in Garden City, NY, with hours typically Monday-Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, though hours may vary. The role involves working collaboratively with Clinical Supervisors to implement ABA therapy principles, collect data, and manage learners in a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months ABA working with children or adolescents with Autism in a supervised setting.
- Successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education or related field.
- Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind.
- Exposure to the practice of maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent time management/organizational skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Clinical Supervisors to implement principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy.
- Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions.
- Acquire and maintain RBT credential in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within the first 90 days of employment.
- Use Central Reach platform for data collection and graphing.
- Implement Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans as directed.
- Effectively manage learners including physical crisis intervention protocols, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
