About The Position

Luzerne County Head Start is seeking dedicated Teachers to join their team. This role involves planning and implementing educational activities that are developmentally appropriate for children, managing the classroom, evaluating children's progress, and communicating with parents. The position requires maintaining a classroom atmosphere that promotes school readiness and adheres to developmentally appropriate practices. Employment is conditional upon possessing current, valid background clearances and proof of degree/certification and experience.

Requirements

AA Degree in Early Childhood Education
BS Degree in Early Childhood Education with PA Certification in PK-4 Instructional I Preferred (Required for PreK Counts classroom assignments)
Current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations.
Proof of Degree/Certification and Experience Required to meet the Qualifications for position.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus

Bilingual Abilities Preferred (Eng/Spanish) � 5% additional pay

Responsibilities

Plan and implement educational activities based on children's abilities and interests, in accordance with curriculum philosophy.
Manage the classroom and plan activities according to the curriculum that are developmentally appropriate.
Evaluate and record children's progress.
Communicate with parents on a regular basis.
Provide and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices.
