About The Position

To help students learn subjects to pass the GED exams. This role involves instructing students on material needed to earn their GED, teaching basic skills in math, science, English, and Social Studies, and helping students prepare and study for GED exams. The position also requires assessing students' readiness to take the exam, creating projects to enhance lectures, utilizing various curriculum resources, and integrating competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. The teacher will work with the program lead to ensure initiatives are met, establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities, and manage student behavior in the classroom.

Requirements

• As set by the State certification requirements for the teaching area: GED (107)
• 1-2 years of experience teaching GED
• Prior experiences working in an environment with adult learners

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
