Sela was founded to dismantle educational inequity, racial segregation, and cultural isolation. We provide a space where students are celebrated as they begin their journey as global citizens. As a bilingual Hebrew-English school, we proudly serve over 280 students from Pre-K3 through 5th grade in the heart of DC. As a Special Education Teacher, you will serve as a case manager and teacher within our 50/50 English-Hebrew immersion model. You will work collaboratively with English and Hebrew language teachers to support students with disabilities through push-in and pull-out instruction, co-teaching, and individualized support. You will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), lead IEP meetings, and deliver high-quality specially designed instruction in ELA and math to meet the needs of students with disabilities. In addition to special education responsibilities, you may provide targeted literacy and math interventions as part of Sela’s Response to Intervention (RTI) process. This work may include collaborating with the RTI team and general education teachers to identify student needs, implement evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and determine appropriate next steps. Throughout your work, you will help ensure that students have access to meaningful learning opportunities across both languages.
