About The Position

Lowell Public Schools is seeking a 0.5 FTE Teacher for the Special Education, Early Childhood Department. This position reports to the Early Childhood Coordinator and is effective at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves planning and delivering effective instruction and assessment, creating a positive learning environment, and maintaining appropriate standards of behavior, respect, and safety. The teacher will communicate learning goals, promote student confidence and responsibility, and strive for equitable learning opportunities while appreciating diversity. Collaboration with parents, colleagues, administrators, and other school personnel is expected, as is compliance with all relevant policies and laws. The teacher will also be a reflective and continuous learner.

Requirements

  • Salary per years of experience and education level pursuant to pay schedule within Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Certification valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with appropriate age group.

  • Use appropriate instruction techniques.
  • Use appropriate questioning techniques.
  • Evaluate, try innovative approaches and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence in ability to learn.
  • Communicate learning goals and high standards and expectations to students.
  • Promote confidence and perseverance in the student that stimulate increased personal student responsibility for achieving the goals of the curriculum.
  • Strive to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning.
  • Demonstrate appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among individuals.
  • Be constructive and cooperative in interactions with parents and receptive to their contributions.
  • Share responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building and school district.
