This position is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in LLD (Language and Learning Disabilities) for middle school students. The role requires a candidate with a New Jersey Middle School content area certificate and a Students with Disabilities certificate, or a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate. The ideal candidate will have excellent experience teaching and working with children with exceptional needs, unless entering teaching through an alternative certification program. A comprehensive understanding of the specialized certification area, including current special education assessment and program requirements, is essential. The position also requires knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning and children with exceptional needs. Experience with middle school students, excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, good moral character, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, respect for others, and computer literacy are also necessary. The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with staff, students, parents, and the community is crucial. Alternatives to the stated qualifications may be considered by the Superintendent. This posting is open for ten days or until filled, pending budget availability.
