About The Position

Assists with developing and leading classroom activities and developmentally appropriate programs. Works collaboratively with the teacher to assess learning/development needs and to develop age appropriate learning solutions. Attends periodical staff meetings. Assist the teacher with implementing the teaching schedule and curriculum. Follows accreditation and licensing policies and practices. Assist teachers with course progress report procedures. Applies knowledge of learning principles to engage the children in appropriate activities. Supervises children to ensure safety. Ensures classroom meets local licensing standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • CPR Cert American Heart (CPR AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • CPR Cert Red Cross (CPR RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • DCF 45-hour Certification (DCF CERT) - Florida Department of Childrens & Family (DCF)
  • Six months experience working or volunteering with children.
  • Requires full Level 2 Background Screening at hire and every 5 years following.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
