This position is classified as a salaried non-exempt position in accordance with FLSA standards. Job Overview: The teacher’s aide is an integral part of the children’s team and is responsible for supporting the teacher by facilitating a safe, productive classroom/nursery environment where infants/children's educational/ child development needs are met. The primary responsibility of a teacher’s aide is to support the lead teacher by supervising young children, assisting with activities, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. IHW is an evidence-based/ supported holistic substance use program for pregnant and parenting women with up to 3 children. IHW is in the Parkside section of Philadelphia. The program has the capacity to serve 22 women and up to 45 children ( ages 0 to 12) at any given time. IHW serves women who suffer from addiction and/or trauma related disorder; many are referred from the criminal justice system.
