About The Position

The Teacher's Aide will support the Great Achievers program, a 21st Century Community Learning Center funded by a grant through the Indiana Department of Education. This program focuses on increasing the math and language arts skills of first through fifth graders by providing homework help, math, reading, and science lessons and activities. The position is part-time, temporary, and runs from August 2026 through June 2027, with hours up to 14 per week, specifically Monday through Thursday from 2:15 PM to 5:45 PM. The role involves assisting the Great Achievers Supervisor and Lead Teachers with lesson planning, student support, behavior management, and ensuring student safety. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Technical: Comfortable in using computers, appropriate software, and job-related equipment
  • A criminal background check is required before employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Teacher(s) and Great Achievers Supervisor with lesson planning
  • Assist students with homework and lessons for assigned classroom
  • Assist with managing student behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Maintain safety of students traveling to and from the school, on field trips, or home
  • Assist Great Achievers Supervisor and Lead Teachers with other tasks as required
  • Follow USDA and CACFP meal pattern when providing afterschool snacks
