About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate part-time Teacher's Aide to join their team in Rutland, MA. This role involves working with children aged 6-21 who have complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Teacher's Aide will support students in grades K-12 and beyond, assisting them in working towards diplomas and learning vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills. The position offers a schedule of Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, making it ideal for caregivers. The pay starts at $20.50/hour and can increase up to $23.87/hour based on higher education and relevant experience. Devereux Massachusetts serves students who have often experienced academic failures due to social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, and the Teacher's Aide will play a crucial role in making a positive difference in their lives.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid driver's license required.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
