About The Position

The Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist provides consultation services to staff who work with RCSD students who are classified or diagnosed with Autism. They provide strategies and support to staff to enable students to effectively communicate, socialize, gain independence, problem solve, and function effectively in their educational environment. The Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist assists with the evaluation, assessment, instruction, and curriculum modifications using research-based/evidence based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They support school teams, families, and other support staff through consultation, modeling of best practice instructional techniques, and by providing training and professional development.
