About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026-2027 school year to work in a supportive school district in the Tukwila, WA area. This is a part-time position, 15 hours per week. Ampersand Therapy is a compassionate, women-led therapy company dedicated to creating a positive work environment and making a meaningful impact in schools. Interviews are currently being conducted.
Requirements
- Valid Washington Residency Teacher Cert with Teacher of the Visually Impaired endorsement.
Responsibilities
- Respond to referrals.
- Attend meetings (guidance team, evaluation, IEP, 504).
- Conduct functional vision evaluations/learning media assessments.
- Complete related paperwork (eligibility reports/individual education plans).
- Provide specially designed instruction, related service, and consultation to students, school staff, and parents.
- Plan for and teach students with vision impairments ages 3 through 22 in the school and community.
- Instruct students to read and write braille when appropriate.
