About The Position

HealthPRO Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) in Leonardtown, Maryland! This is a full-time, non-contract opportunity with an immediate need and a projected start date of September 14, 2026. The selected candidate will support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting. Specific assignment details and locations may vary. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
Current Maryland Teaching license with appropriate Deaf and Hard of Hearing licensure/endorsement
Candidates with a valid out-of-state teaching license in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education may be considered, subject to Maryland licensure requirements

Responsibilities

Providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Supporting students in accessing academic instruction and educational materials
Collaborating with teachers, families, related service providers, and other members of the educational team
Participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies as appropriate
Providing consultation and resources to school staff regarding the educational needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Supporting communication, language development, self-advocacy, and academic success
Maintaining required documentation and student records
Traveling between school locations as needed based on assignment requirements
