About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the 2026-27 school year in the North Phoenix, AZ area. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to help students master skills for a successful future. The position requires designing and delivering instruction tailored to IEP goals, modifying curriculum for students with hearing impairments, administering academic assessments, and leading the development of standards-based IEPs and MET reports. Collaboration with audiologists and school staff is essential for implementing modified programs and facilitating student mainstreaming. The role also includes recommending and managing assistive technologies like FM equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field
  • Valid Arizona Special Education Certification in Hearing Impaired (K-12) (Provisional, Standard, or Reciprocal)
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Active SEI Endorsement

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver instruction tailored to IEP goals.
  • Modify grade-level curriculum to meet the unique learning styles of students with hearing impairments.
  • Administer academic assessments.
  • Lead the development of standards-based IEPs and MET reports.
  • Partner with audiologists and school staff to implement modified programs.
  • Ensure successful student mainstreaming within the general education environment.
  • Recommend and manage FM equipment and other assistive technologies.
