About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with schools to provide Teacher of the deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a part-time, on-site role as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) serving a school located in Boston, MA. The Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field preferred
  • English Learner Authorization (CLAD/BCLAD or included in credential)
  • Knowledge of IEP development, assessments, and special education services
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
  • Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning.
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.
  • Provide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs.
