Teacher of Middle School Mathematics / Math Support (Part Time)
About The Position
The International School of Texas is seeking a part-time Teacher of Middle School Mathematics or Mathematics Support Teacher. This post is available immediately. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division. IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the MYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. It is our mission to nurture curious students who take an inquiring perspective about the world and are inspired to continue learning, growing, and taking action for the stewardship of our planet. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School. In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience. From soccer and art clubs to robotics, coding, and cross-country, IST Trailblazers take their learning outside of the classroom through their participation in clubs and teams that enrich their bodies and minds. Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school.
- Strong belief in progressive education.
- Experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning.
- Openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.
- Promote IST’s commitment to global citizenship and lifelong learning.
- Demonstrated gift for engaging a diverse student body and strengthening IST’s community.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
- Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience.
- Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Teaching Certification (Required).
- Ability to Relocate to Austin, TX 78738 before starting work (Required).

Nice To Haves
