About The Position
The International School of Texas is seeking a part-time Teacher of Middle School Mathematics or Mathematics Support Teacher. This post is available immediately. This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division. IST is a vibrant educational community of globally-minded learners and leaders. IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the MYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry-based environment. It is our mission to nurture curious students who take an inquiring perspective about the world and are inspired to continue learning, growing, and taking action for the stewardship of our planet.
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school
- Strong belief in progressive education
- Experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry-based or project-based learning
- Openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field
- Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience
- Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Teaching Certification
- Ability to relocate to Austin, TX 78738 before starting work

Responsibilities
- Planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons
- Documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students
- Lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience
